Colorado Springs is hosting its first Caffeine Crawl on August 14th!

 

Colorado Springs Caffeine Crawl8 local coffee, tea and chocolate shops will unite for a unique caffeinated experience.

There will be 4 guided routes to choose from and crawlers can look forward to engaging presentations and take home treats at each shop. Tickets include an event packet with Crawl goodies, admittance to all stops on your selected route which includes a drink or chocolate sample provided and a short, educational presentation. The samples are determined by each shop and are generally coffee- or tea-based if a drink.

Children are invited and there are sometimes caffeine-free options, but this is rare and children over 3 must have a ticket

The Pikes Peak Region is a great place to spend the July 4th. Weekend. Our rich military history and sheer volume of veterans and current military that live here make the 4th. a really big deal. So, here’s the breakdown on what’s happening: Memorial Park is the big attraction for the 4th. The day starts at noon and goes until the fireworks are done. Get there early if you want to find a place. Here’s the schedule: 

          • Activities and Concessions 12:00
          • Fort Carson 4th Infantry Division Bands noon to 3:45 pm
          • USAF Academy Band’s Blue Steel at 5:30 pm
          • The Colorado Springs Philharmonic at 7:30
          • Fireworks at Dusk

 

This event is Free and open to the public. If you want to celebrate, don’t mis the Coors Beer Garden. There is food available for purchase and picnics are welcome. There will be ATMs available. They ask that you not bring rain or sun coverings that block the view of other patrons and please leave pets, alcohol, and weapons at home. The “Jazz Party” takes place October 31, November 1-2, 2014 at the Antlers Hilton in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This is a uniquely American musical event. It is a three-day, four-session event that brings together the best straight-ahead jazz musicians in the country.

This event affords an opportunity for these world-class musicians to jam, thereby renewing and revising their craft. Typically, each musician will lead a set bringing their own unique style and playbook.

For the audience, each set is an original experience that may never be heard again.

This event is sponsored by The Friends of Colorado Springs Jazz. This organization promotes, informs and grows the presence of straight-ahead jazz in Colorado.

Here is the itinerary:

  • Friday, October 31, 5pm-6pm Cocktail Reception; 6:30pm-10:30pm performance
  • Saturday, November 1, 1pm-5pm performance
  • Saturday, November 1, 8pm-12 midnight performance
  • Sunday, November 2, 10:30am-2:30pm brunch performance

The "Fountain Creek Brass Band" a traditional British Style Brass Band will be preforming a FREE concert, Sunday November 2nd. at 3:00 p.m. at "First Christian Church" 16 East Platte Ave. Colorado Springs, CO. 80903

The Fountain Creek Brass Band, an elite 33-member ensemble in the classic British brass band tradition, champions music in community and educational settings, inspiring a new generation of audiences, both young and old. They continually strive for excellence in musical performance by adding diverse sets of literature to their repertoire and encouraging the growth of the musical skills of the group.

The ensemble seeks opportunities to collaborate with school music programs in the form of joint concerts or special fundraising events from elementary to college level in the Pikes Peak and Front Range region. For more information, please visit Click Here

The gathering takes place at the First & Main Town Center in the Dick's Sporting Goods west parking lot off of Powers Blvd. and South Carefree.
